Blood Pressure Monitors Large Cuff
What effect does cuff size have on the accuracy of a blood pressure monitor?
Would a cuff that is too large give an artificially low reading?
I used my dads blood pressure monitor, but his cuff is for someone with arms that are more than 30cm, mine are only 23cm. I pulled it as tight as i could get it, but the reading seems really low.
You’re exactly right. A too large cuff will give too low readings. A too small cuff will give too high readings. Just like Goldilocks and the three bears… you need a cuff that is “just right”… for you.
