Blood Pressure Monitors Omron
I wonder if my blood pressure is fine or not?
I have high blood pressure and take 2 medications. I was told that it is better to buy a Home blood pressure monitor than checking it at the store which I did. I purchased the Omron HEM 780 supposedly the best about $73. Now this morning my BP at home was 129/86. I went to the store wait 2mn and the store BP monitor gaves me 153/103. I wait 3 mn and it gives me 144/94 , I walk come back and it gives me 135/98 , I rest for 3 mn and it gives me 126/96. What should I trust? My Home BP monitor? I just got home and my BP monitor gives me a 135/95. I am VERY worries and this is starting to get on my nerves as I am having too many discrepancies between store and home monitors. At the doctor office 3 weeks ago it was 130/86. Thanks for your time :

Sorry I mean I just got home it gave me a normal 135/85 not 135/95
What you could perhaps try is to take about 5 readings on your home BP monitor. Probably the first one will be the worst and perhaps the third or fourth one will be the best. The more relaxed you are the lower the reading. Readings vary depending on how rested and relaxed you are.
Based on all your various readings and disregarding the higher ones and regarding the lowest readings as the more accurate ones it would seem that your systolic BP is OK as the best readings are below 140 and your diastolic BP is probably OK as well as the best readings are below 90. Over 140/90 is high BP and needs treatment.
Variations in BP are quite normal and the best readings are the ones that you should regard as the more accurate ones. The white coat syndrome means that in general your first reading is by far the worst. Probably because you are not rested and not very relaxed.
