Medical Equipment Technician Schools

What kind of degree should i get to become a Medical Equipment Repair Technician?
I have been doing some research and it appears there are no specific degrees in Med. Equip. Repair Tech…all i have learned is i need a strong backround in Computer Tech and that there is on the job training which makes me think there might not be any specific degree i need…
so what im wondering is how can i obtain a degree and what kind of degree should i get to work in this field..i would like to do an associate first since i heard an AS is all you need to enter the field …
another thing…i am 20 in school for communications and i have about 20 credits to finish my AA and work as a sales person…will my age affect me?? it seems like a pretty serious job therefore is there a chance these medical repair company’s might not like hiring young people like me…of course i will be 22-23 when i finish the schooling…
anyway i would appreciate your input and info on how i can obtain a degree or what type of degree i need to get hired as a Medical equipment Technician…
it is a technician job like all other disciplines
